Invited to the Fribourg Tango Festival 2027, Tekla Gogrichiani and Juan Manuel Acosta will share their experience through four workshops and will also perform an exhibition at the Saturday evening milonga.
Tekla Gogrichiani
Originally from Georgia, Tekla Gogrichiani is a dancer and Argentine tango teacher. Her artistic journey began at the age of five with professional training in Georgian folk dance, which she studied for thirteen years. At the same time, she pursued ten years of classical music studies and trained as a pianist.
She discovered tango in 2012 and has since developed an international career that has led her to teach and perform in numerous countries across Europe, Asia and South America. Founder of Tango Academy Tbilisi and the Tango on High Heels project, she devotes an important part of her work to teaching and exploring movement.
Her tango is rooted in traditional Tango Salón, with particular attention to simplicity, musicality and the quality of the embrace.
Her medical training and knowledge of anatomy also inform a precise teaching approach, with particular attention to body awareness and to movement that is elegant, natural and respectful of the body.

Juan Manuel Acosta
Argentine dancer, teacher and choreographer Juan Manuel Acosta has been professionally dedicated to tango for more than twenty years. He began his training in Buenos Aires as a teenager with Rodolfo Dinzel, before continuing his studies with many renowned maestros, including Mingo Pugliese, Fabián Salas and Gustavo Naveira.
His background also includes contemporary dance and Street Jazz, which he studied in London. This diversity has accompanied him throughout an international career spanning more than twenty countries, as a dancer, teacher and choreographer.
He has participated in numerous renowned productions and companies, including Tango x 2, Tangokinesis, Tango Pasión, Tanguera and Esquina Carlos Gardel.
Based in Rome since 2022, Juan Manuel continues his artistic and teaching work in Italy and across Europe. His research draws on a deep knowledge of traditional tango while exploring dialogue with other dance languages, with the aim of developing movement that is free, personal and expressive.
