Suria López Echeverría & Mauro Iván Rodríguez

Elegance, connection and an approach to tango deeply rooted in the dialogue between partners.

Argentine dancers and teachers Suria López Echeverría and Mauro Iván Rodríguez are currently based in Europe, where they regularly teach and perform at milongas, festivals and international shows.

They collaborate with the Zotto Tango Academy and are part of the TangoX2 company, directed by Miguel Ángel Zotto. They have notably participated in the show Tango. Historias de Astor, presented at the Teatro Manzoni in Milan, as well as various productions dedicated to Argentine tango and its stage expression.

Their dance is characterised by a deep connection between partners, precise musicality and an elegance that favours subtlety and mutual awareness over showiness. Their work combines the qualities of social tango with a strong stage presence.

A clear and precise teaching method

In their teaching, Suria and Mauro pay particular attention to the understanding of movement, connection, different dynamics, and the way technical elements can be naturally integrated into improvised dance.

Sacadas, colgadas, volcadas, ganchos, vals and musicality become tools for developing a more conscious, free and expressive dance, always connected to both the partner and the music.

Invited to the Fribourg Tango Festival 2027, they will offer four workshops for intermediate and advanced dancers and will also perform an exhibition during the Friday evening milonga.

Suria is also a TDJ under the name La Pebeta, another expression of her close relationship with music and social tango.
